  1. This is the main way to send SMS messages through our messaging platform

  2. Chose the phone number you want to send from at the top in the teal box

  3. Pick either Groups or Contacts depending on what you want to send.

  4. If you have a message template, choose the message template you want to use.

  5. Areacode States is a dropdown that will populate the “Exclude Areacode” box. Any area codes written in the box will not be sent to, even if that area code has been uploaded in the list.

  6. The SMS radio button will allow you to send an SMS message, and the MMS radio button will allow you to send an MMS (MMS NOT RECOMMENDED, 9/10 TIMES WILL CAUSE SPAM)

  7. Merge Tags
    1. You can call information from your contact by using merge tags.
    2. You can see how to write merge tags by hovering over the green tag above the message box.
    3. Make sure you write it EXACTLY how it is written in the merge tag section. Use 2 % symbols and capitalize the first letter.
  8. Spin Function
    1. The spin function is a function that allows the user to create a randomized message by using {, |, and }.
    2. To read about the spin function, click on the yellow notepad icon under the preview.
    3. Put all words you want to be interchangeable in the brackets and separate the words with the page break line.
    4. Should look like {Hi|Hello|How are you}.
    5. Use this to help get through spam filters.

  9. Number Pool
    1. Turning this on allows you to send your messages from multiple phone numbers.
    2. It sends on a round robin style system, with every phone number sending nearly the same amount of messages.
    3. To initiate the Number pool, turn on the slider and choose all the phone numbers you want to send from.
      1. Sticky Sender attaches the phone number to the person it is texting to
      2. Geo-Match matches area codes as best as possible
  10. Execute Batch Process
    1. Execute batch process needs to be turned on if you are sending to over 5,000 contacts at once.
    2. The “Golden Zone” for this option is 2,500 batch size, 10-minute batch frequency. This will give the best deliverability without impact from spam filtering due to how much is being sent.
  11. Sending Throttle stays on medium.
  12. Registered vs. Unregistered
    1. When you first signs up, they will be running unregistered traffic
    2. Unregistered traffic has restrictions, 5,000 messages per day per phone number, and the user can expect anywhere from 10%-50% of messages failing due to AT&T throttling. THIS IS NOT SPAM, THIS IS A THROTTLE.
    3. When the user decides to register, the daily limit will rise to a minimum of 25,000 per day per phone number. The user will no longer have to expect 10%-50% of their messages to be blocked by ATT.
    4. Registration DOES NOT MEAN that the SPAM filters are no longer in effect. There is no change in the filters.
    5. Registration is taking between 1-3 weeks right now.
